Day 9, 10 & 11

OK the days are kinda running into each other. So lets just review 9, 10 and 11 in one shot. So there are these tarps that are bigger then the damn house! They should prevent it from raining inside the house....

Lets just say some water got in and Mike came to save the day and brushed the water off the roof:

Steve attempted to lend a hand:

I can't believe I didn't take pictures of the rainfall in the livingroom. Instead you'll have to just settle on what happened in the kitchen the following night - luckily here the water was leaking straight thru the door jam instead of like the ceiling in the living room:

Photobucket

Steve just itching to get up into the new attic to see the space:

Photobucket

when the men are away the boys will play....

Photobucket

We've got a roof:

Photobucket

and it's so pretty!:

Photobucket

With every new roof a hole happens once:

Photobucket

or twice:

Photobucket

hell 3 times a charm right:

Photobucket

Sam always wanted direct sunlight in her room:

Photobucket

It's getting there:

Photobucket

Remember the roof rot - well in order to replace that we needed some extra support - in our bedroom:

Photobucket

that's a lot of wood....that's what she said - haha:

Photobucket

OK now we are getting somewhere, Here's the making of a bedroom there folks

Day 8

OK so it's still all about the roof and even more so after some dry rot was found that wasn't expected but needs to be replaced. That involved the roof line getting changed - it sucks about the dry rot but the new roof line will match up with the garage pretty good!

Shout out to Mr. James Bouler for designing our dream home!

Photobucket

it's getting there! Do ya see it? Do ya do ya?!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Our new roof - in a nice little package!

Photobucket

The man responsible for the hot mess! Mike owner of MDM Builders! So far he's come thru and we've made the right choice - well wait that was before he told us we need a new roof so the jury has reconvened.

Photobucket

Good roof/bad roof. So on the left is what we should have up there and what you see on the right is rotted and what we actually have

Photobucket

OK all covered and ready for the rain tomorrow - let's hope it's not a lot!

DAY 7

Fast as lightening!

I go into the laundry room - direct sunlight always helps dry the clothes

Photobucket

Oh I see there's NO ROOF!

Photobucket

This truck represents my payback. "Why" you ask? Well I specifically asked repeatedly for at least a week notice to empty my closet. Things have been moving as fast as lightening and I was given a few hours! Well I might have forgotten to mention that the attic was filled with misc. wood, mattresses, paint cans, a kitchen sink and various other crap that was left up there when we bought the house and never removed. So when they ripped the roof my little surprise was discovered and they needed to clear it - hehe

Photobucket

There's Mike coming to kill me for "forgetting" to tell him about the attic -hehe

Photobucket

Once the attic got cleared they got moving:

Photobucket

really moving:

Photobucket

then the rain came:

Photobucket

at least the tarp matches my kitchen

Photobucket

till tomorrow!

DAY 6

So while this guy is pretending to look busy

Photobucket

these 2 are looking for the directions on what goes where:

Photobucket

I think they got it:

Photobucket

Looking from the back. See the white cut out on the wall - that's my office:

Photobucket

now without a window....for now

Photobucket

All was quiet. No puppies crying no Sophia looking for something to do. I look around and find them - guilty!

DAY 5

Lots happening today but not easy to get pictures of since they were up on the 2nd story and I wasn't climbing up to get the shot. Well I would have but I don't think they would be pleased

I came down the rode after dropping the kids off to find this:

Photobucket

So apparently the wood was so big it took a crane to lift it off the flatbed:

Photobucket

thats the piece there in the middle wrapped in white:

Photobucket

Guard dogs:

Photobucket

bye bye leaky skylights!!

Photobucket

they made it to the roof:

Photobucket

Oh boy that was fast:

Photobucket

and that's a hot mess!

Photobucket

Let the framing begin:

DAY 4

Day 4 was CA-RAZY! Lots happening.

Walls have been formed and inspected so they can now backfill and get ready to frame:

Photobucket

Photobucket

This is the man in charge of the masonry! He's awesome:

Photobucket

Steve offering his assistance:

Photobucket

Here comes the lumber:

Photobucket

Just to give you and idea this truck came and after he placed it all on our front lawn he left and CAME BACK with the truck filled again!

Photobucket

A trailer was delivered:

Photobucket

holy lumber:

Photobucket

a better idea of how much:

Photobucket

Ya backfill complete - now build us a garage!

Photobucket

and a porch please:

Photobucket

Now in the middle of all this insanity Steve hosted his baseball draft with his friends for 8 hrs. So we had the craziness outside and in - sorry no pics of the draft. I completely forgot!

Oh and if things weren't crazy enough why not get a new pet:

Photobucket

well of course 1 isn't enough :) names to follow!
