Waiting for Daddy

So as most of you know Steve's last 8 weeks or so has SUCKED! He has spent more time on the trains and planes then.....well it's been a lot. So he is home for the next 10 days. When I say home I mean he will still go to work at the crack of dawn but at least come home at some point at the end of the day. Well tonight he was really coming home early at 6:30pm. To some - you would say that is late but to us that is the equivalent of him coming home at like 4pm for someone with a job with normal hours. I was trying to get dinner ready and the kids (meaning just Bella and Sophia) were being crazy. So I told them that Daddy was on his way home and to go wait for him. This is were they patiently sat and waited for 25 min.

Oh and it was a shock to all to even be coming home in the DAYLIGHT!

"MOM why are your slippers still on?!?!"

I left the house this morning to run some errands with Bella and Sophia. Bella pointed out AFTER WE WERE ALREADY IN THE STORE that I still had my slippers on and she wanted to know why. This is where I could have responded with - "Well my slippers are on because I have lost my ever-lovin mind. I'm a bit....ok a lot cranky, tired and over-worked. Daddy has been away for what seems like forever. I have 3 kids in 3 different schools with insane after-school schedules that keeps me out of the house every week night. I put more miles on my truck in one week then I could have ever imagined. Your sister has decided she would like to complain about her new teeth coming in and has been a pure delight about it. I don't ask for help because honestly it's just too much trouble and easier to do myself. I really really need a gun of sorts to take out the deer, squirels, and racoons that won't stay out of the garbage." I don't know what I am feeding you for dinner tonight not that it should matter because you will have eaten enough snacks before then to last you a week. I am trying to figure out how to get all the bubbles out of the washing machine because I didn't buy the detergent with the "he" symbol on it and now I have made a mess. We need to go get the oil changed in the truck and the guys are so going to make fun of me wearing my slippers or at the very least think I am some crazy mother who has lost her mind. Luckily when we go through the car wash after wards we don't have to get out of the car so no one will see the slippers. Hopefully 20 years from now you'll appreciate all I have done at the expense of my own sanity......really who wants to live a sane life anyway this is much more fun"

Instead I explained it was "National Wear your Slippers Day" and then she cried because she was wearing sneakers.

Sometimes there just isn't a title

~ 1/2lb Roast Beef (a week ago)- $5.99

~ Staying with a sick Dexter in the Vet till 1:30 in the morning while the Vet was trying to figure out what was wrong - putting him thru blood tests, x-rays (which they had to knock him out for), drugging him with too many pain killers. Only to leave with NO diagnosis and agreeing it most likely was the roast beef that STEVE fed him earlier in the day - $741.00

~ Knowing this was not my fault at all and that I can totally blame Steve and give him a legitimate hard time for no set period of time WHILE HE IS AWAY ALL WEEK FOR WORK only leaving me with the sick dog that needs 3 different drugs every 8 hours for the next 3 days - PRICELESS.

Meet Chloe !!

So it all started one day with Dexter looking sad and Steve saying we should get him a friend....OK I said he needed the friend but Steve is who picked the breed. After doing the research and talking with Dexter's trainer, who agreed Dexter could use a friend, we decided on getting a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. Not sure why they are called Greater and not Great it kinda looks weird but whatever....

So we found a breeder 6 weeks ago and she sent us this picture:

At about 4 weeks old we were sent a series of more pictures and was asked to pick one. Seriously how could you choose?!?!? NO I didn't ask for more than 1....

So after 6 weeks of waiting we got the call on Monday that our new puppy was ready and could we pick her up on Thursday. She lived in South Carolina so she had to take a plane to get to us. She had a long flight but here she is just after we got her into the car.

Oh and I am not sure if you have ever picked anything up in the cargo section of the airport but Chloe came out right after the dead body....I am not kidding!! Oh and then after Chloe was a delivery of flowers from Holland - more than I had ever seen before in my life in one place.

Here's the money shot - this was the whole reason why we got "YES ANOTHER DOG" They were giving each other kisses..... I promise much better pictures to come.

Be sure to check back tomorrow to see my announcement that I am having triplets and that were getting a giraffe, a pet snake, a couple of hamsters (for the the snake to eat), 2 birds, 3 new cars, oh and were adding 3 more stories to our house - good stuff!!

Not too much longer now.......

The Pepe's go to Washington

This past week we took 2 of the 4 kids to Washington to see some of what they have learned about in school last month. Steven has been obsessed with President Lincoln so he really enjoyed seeing Ford's Theater and the Lincoln Memorial. We also visited the Washington Monument and the WWII memorial. The kids really enjoyed the spy museum where we all took on secret identities. Well really it was a tie between Steve and the kids enjoying it the most. We then took the kids to visit Steve's office and meet some of the people he gets to work with. The kids really enjoyed this part because of the guns they got to play with. Sam has a pretty good shot :) The funniest part of that was Steven, Jr. getting locked in the desk. What a clown! We only got to briefly visit the American History Smithsonian - they just recently renovated the entire museum and they did a fantastic job.

Oh Samantha had her Flat Stanley report to do so she took him to Washington with her.

OK ok here are the pics....

2 down 2/3 to go.....

To most this might not seem as big as it is but to us it's huge!! So today both Samantha and Steven,Jr. learned to ride their bikes WITHOUT their training wheels!!!!! See at our last home as much as I miss it - it was not practical for the kids. The very long driveway which would have been prefect to learn to ride on was all rock. Not very fun to ride on. The other problem was we were on a very busy road. OK so enough with that this is a new day with a new house with no traffic and a big ole driveway for the kids to ride on round and round and round. Of course I documented the occasion properly :) Enjoy! Oh and I so saved the BEST FOR LAST!!!

So it started off like this with a lot of falling.....

When the boy thought he was gonna fall he would go toward the curb hoping that it would help him..lol

Sam didn't fall nearly as much as Steven which we used as the proper motivation to torture Steven into keep going. Gotta love his competitive nature!

And she's off....

and then he's off.....

and now their all off and its mass confusion.....

Still going.....

OK now this puddle is just across from our driveway. At first I told them to stay away because they were still falling to much I didn't want them to fall in the puddle....

then I turned my head and Steven thought it would be a good idea.....sure for entertainment purposes it was/is. Seriously we couldn't stop laughing - the kid got SOAKED!

He jumps up quick thinking that would save him from the water...

it didn't and if he knew how to give us the finger he so would have. He walked away into the house for a hot shower. As I type this I am still laughing looking at the pictures of it - what a clown

After we were able to get the kids going straight they needed to know how to turn. Well every time Steven tried to turn he looked like Pee Wee Herman making those wide side to side loops.....you remember him on that red bike. Ok so the kid just wasn't getting it. The next best thing was to get the Dad to show him. No I wasn't doing it someone needed to take the pictures.

I told you I saved the best for last!

He's laughing here cause he knew where this picture was going to end up..... Now I am not sure which is funnier this or the boy falling into the puddle. I think it's a tie.

I think it is appropriate to remind you that if you click on any of my photo's you will see a larger version of it. Try it out.....this is a good one to see larger...lol

Love you babe for all you put yourself through for our kids - and the blog followers :) (or course!)

Major Milestones accomplished today!!!!

All the town is a buzz with the Pepe's new tricks. Be sure to check back later to see all the excitement!!!
