I left the house this morning to run some errands with Bella and Sophia. Bella pointed out AFTER WE WERE ALREADY IN THE STORE that I still had my slippers on and she wanted to know why. This is where I could have responded with - "Well my slippers are on because I have lost my ever-lovin mind. I'm a bit....ok a lot cranky, tired and over-worked. Daddy has been away for what seems like forever. I have 3 kids in 3 different schools with insane after-school schedules that keeps me out of the house every week night. I put more miles on my truck in one week then I could have ever imagined. Your sister has decided she would like to complain about her new teeth coming in and has been a pure delight about it. I don't ask for help because honestly it's just too much trouble and easier to do myself. I really really need a gun of sorts to take out the deer, squirels, and racoons that won't stay out of the garbage." I don't know what I am feeding you for dinner tonight not that it should matter because you will have eaten enough snacks before then to last you a week. I am trying to figure out how to get all the bubbles out of the washing machine because I didn't buy the detergent with the "he" symbol on it and now I have made a mess. We need to go get the oil changed in the truck and the guys are so going to make fun of me wearing my slippers or at the very least think I am some crazy mother who has lost her mind. Luckily when we go through the car wash after wards we don't have to get out of the car so no one will see the slippers. Hopefully 20 years from now you'll appreciate all I have done at the expense of my own sanity......really who wants to live a sane life anyway this is much more fun"
Instead I explained it was "National Wear your Slippers Day" and then she cried because she was wearing sneakers.

get a pair of crocs so much easier and you never have to explain yourself and probably more comfy than slippers.
What a great post! Seriously, it sounds like this really just sums up your ridiculously crazy and stressed past few days. Ohh Cheryl! What a wonderful wife/mother you are! Obviously your precious family all comes first and your feet came in last. Then you have the ability to laugh about it. Just proves what kind of person you really are. :-)
HUGE hugs my friend! I truly hope things slow down for you soon! It sounds promising for the week-end, right?
Stephanie
Ps. I have the same slippers! So comfy.
That was written in one long, run on, stressful sentence!!! Next time I offer to take the kids for dinner....wouldya LET ME!?! That is soooo funny...I can totally see Bella feeling left out about "slipper day!!
